Charleston, SC
I visited Charleston a couple of years ago with my parents and absolutely loved it. I loved that it was a super walkable city with so much to discover in terms of historical grounds, shops, amazing food, and gorgeous architecture. Most of all, I loved that while Charleston bears a lot of historical landmarks that bring up a lot of of our ugly history around slavery, but i loved that Charleston owned it versus ignoring its roots and allowed room for space and questions. I highly recommend The BullDog Tours Upper King Street tour. Not only was every bite delicious, but I felt like i learned so much about history through food. You may need a car to visit beaches outside of the city center, but otherwise you’ll find everything is super close.
